Follow the progress of Passing Time by Anton Parsons from when it was constructed in Auckland to when to was transported to Christchurch and installed on the current site at Wilson Reserve, at the High Street entrance to the Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology (CPIT).
Watch the video below as the numbers for the sculpture are water cut ready for installation, and as the final parts of the structure are put together.
Passing Time is commissioned by Christchurch City Council and CPIT with funding from the CPIT Foundation. It is a number loop depicting each year between 1906 (the founding of CPIT) and 2010 (the year of the sculpture’s intended installation). It took close to a year to complete the sculpture, from the initial proposal to the finished work being completed.
